I came across another photography meme called Scenic Sunday. It's a meme where you share your scenic photo's (landscapes, flowers, buildings, etc.). I love to take photo's especially this time of year I really appreciate the area in which we live in (Upstate New York). If you have any scenic photo's come over to Scenic Sunday and check out the other photographers too.
These mountains are literally in our backyard. It's about a 5 - 10 minute drive not even from our house. This is going up the mountain along the Katterskill Creek in Palenville NY. This is the trail that Rip Van Winkle took (see the sign below). It's a twisty turny ride to the top but what gorgeous scenery surround you on both sides. I have plenty more pictures from our adventure yesterday (10-18-08) we took over 300 pictures. Check this post for a few more pictures and this post for the view of our front yard. Kaaterskill Falls...did you read Allegra Goodman's book? Anyway, I've driven through this area, it's beautiful. We live further south, in Central New Jersey, but sometimes have a reason to drive through New York State.
